LOANS AGAINST WINE

We offer loans on fine wine with competitive interest rates and no impact on affordability. Loans available up to £2 million with terms from 3 to 24 months.

BRIDGE LOANS

Use your fine wine as security for a loan. This prevents you from having to sell your fine wine as it is returned to you once the wine loan is repaid. This offers an alternative to a traditional bank loan or property bridging loan.

SALE ADVANCE LOANS

Sell fine wine and receive funds immediately rather than waiting for the sale to take place. Our experts work with you to find the best sales channel to sell your luxury asset and you receive a large proportion of the auction reserve price immediately.

ACQUISITION LOANS

Take advantage of fine wine investment opportunities when they arise. You can bid at auction, settle the purchase with our loan and then take possession of the asset at a later date.

OUR PROCESS

We can come to you or you can come to us.

We lend against a wide selection of fine wine ranging from Château Pétrus to Romanée Conti. Whether you have a large or small collection, we can provide you with an accurate fine wine valuation. We consider many variables when appraising your wine. Some of the key influences are:

  • Vintage – Wines from the best vintages and older wines can command higher prices.
  • Scarcity – Rare bottles of wine can demand a premium.
  • Condition – Damage to the bottle, cork or label can negatively impact the value.
  • Provenance – Paperwork or any other purchase documentation can increase value.

Our Process >

It is advised that fine wine is collected by one of our specialist logistics partners. During transportation, fine wine is fully insured against theft, damage, and wear. Your wine collection is then stored at one of our specialist partner facilities in the appropriate climate-controlled conditions.

In certain cases, if fine wine is already in storage with a professional wine storage facility, we may be able to leave it there for the duration of the loan, rather than move it to one of our partner’s facilities.

Our Process >

When fine wine is with us, it is subject to specialist care. We guarantee fine wine is returned to clients in the same condition than before. With our ‘White Glove Experience’, a condition report is provided for each and it is wrapped and stored in custom-made protective packaging. Exceptionally high value wine will be stored in custom-made wooden cases.

Your questions answered.

WHAT INFORMATION DO I NEED TO PROVIDE ABOUT MY FINE WINE?

Please provide a short description of your fine wine including the name, vintage, number of bottles or cases, where the wine is currently stored, the storage conditions, any auction or wine merchant purchase information and a photograph. This will help us provide you with a valuation more quickly.

Do You Offer Loans Against Wine in Bond?

Yes, we offer loans against wine held in bond, provided it meets our minimum value and provenance requirements. Bonded wine is often ideal for lending due to its traceability and storage conditions.

Do you conduct credit checks?

We do not carry out any credit checks or affordability checks as the loan is secured against your fine wine.

What LUXURY assets do you accept?

We accept a wide range of luxury assets including, but not limited to luxury and classic carsfine art, watchesjewellery and diamonds, fine wine, antiques and gold.

HOW MUCH CAN I BORROW AGAINST MY FINE WINE?

We can lend you between 50 to 70% of the value of your fine wine whereas other fine wine lenders will only lend you up to 50% of the value. For example, if you own a collection of Château Mouton-Rothschild valued at £150,000, we could lend you up to £105,000 (70% loan-to-value).

Who will APPRAISE my Fine WINE?

Our appraisals team have worked for the world’s most prestigious auction houses including Christie’s and we have an established network of fine wine merchants, independent wine advisors, and auction houses who we work with to ensure our valuations are accurate.

How to Sell Fine Wine?

If you’re looking to sell fine wine, we offer a Sale Advance loan solution to help you access funds quickly while ensuring you get the best possible outcome from the sale.

Rather than waiting weeks or months for your wine to sell at auction, our Sale Advance Loan allows you to receive a large proportion of the expected sale price upfront. Our experts will work with you to identify the most suitable sales channel – such as auction or private sale – and handle the process on your behalf. You get an immediate advance based on the auction reserve price, with the remaining balance (minus our fees and interest) paid to you once the wine is sold.

Can I Get a Fine Wine Valuation?

We do not offer independent fine wine valuations. All our wine appraisals are conducted solely as part of our wine financing process, where we offer wine loans based on a percentage of the wine’s projected market or auction value.
